vasilito 0f42ee3f40 redbear-* source Cargo.toml: edition 2024, license+repo+description, tokio minimal
Phase 2A — Edition bumps (5 programs, edition 2021 → 2024):

- redbear-accessibility
- redbear-ime
- redbear-keymapd
- redbear-tui-theme
- redbear-compositor

Per AGENTS.md: 'edition = 2024' is mandatory for new Rust code. These 5
were the last stragglers on edition 2021 in the redbear-* scope.

Phase 2B — license + repository + description metadata (35 files):

All redbear-* source/Cargo.toml files now have:
  license = 'MIT'
  repository = 'https://gitea.redbearos.org/vasilito/RedBear-OS'
  description = '<one-line purpose>'

103 fields added total across 35 files. redbear-tui-theme already had the
fields (skipped). redbear-hid-core already had license+description (only
got repository). No version fields modified.

Phase 2E — tokio minimal feature set (5 programs):

- redbear-notifications
- redbear-polkit
- redbear-sessiond
- redbear-statusnotifierwatcher
- redbear-udisks

Migrated from features=['full'] to:
  default-features = false
  features = ['rt', 'rt-multi-thread', 'macros', 'net', 'time', 'sync']

'features = ["full"]' pulls in signal-handler code that crashes on Redox.
The minimal set matches redbear-upower's existing pattern (already used
the right config). redbear-sessiond's vendored tokio patch
(local/patches/tokio/vendored) is unaffected — only the consumer feature
declaration changed, the [patch.crates-io] override still points to the
same vendored path.

Verified: 'features = ["full"]' returns 0 matches across the 5 target
programs. sync-versions.sh --check passes (75 Cat 1 crates, 0 drift).

vasilito 8fbc113d9f round 14: remove LD_PRELOAD stub + firmware-loader + scheme daemons expect chains + SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG R11-14
Round 14 audit cleanup. Six coordinated fixes across seven files
plus a documentation log update:

1. local/recipes/system/redbear-wayland-guard/ — REMOVED entirely.
   The directory contained only source/wayland_guard.c — an LD_PRELOAD
   interposer stub for three wl_proxy_* functions — with NO recipe.toml.
   This violated local/AGENTS.md STUB AND WORKAROUND POLICY ('No LD_PRELOAD
   tricks'). The correct null-guard fix lives in libwayland upstream per
   QT6-WAYLAND-NULL8-DIAGNOSIS.md (already covered by Mesa win compat).

2. recipes/system/redbear-wayland-guard — broken symlink cleaned up.

3. local/recipes/AGENTS.md — catalog entry for redbear-wayland-guard was
   wrong (claimed 'Rust' but the code was C LD_PRELOAD). Replaced with
   REMOVED note explaining the policy violation and the correct fix
   location in libwayland.

4. local/recipes/system/firmware-loader/source/src/main.rs — converted
   9 .expect() calls in the daemon init path (Socket::create, scheme_root,
   create_this_scheme_fd, syscall::call_wo notify, setrens, next_request,
   write_response) to Result propagation. get_init_notify_fd() and
   notify_scheme_ready() now return Result; run_daemon() returns Result and
   main() matches on Err to log+exit(1) cleanly. The daemon was
   crashing the entire firmware-delivery subsystem on any init failure;
   now init can fall back or restart the daemon.

5. local/recipes/system/{redbear-keymapd,redbear-ime,redbear-accessibility}/
   source/src/main.rs — three scheme daemons used the same
   Socket::create().expect() + register_sync_scheme().expect() pattern.
   Replaced all six .expect() calls with match expressions that
   log_msg('ERROR', ...) and process::exit(1). Same pattern.

6. local/docs/NETWORKING-AND-DRIVERS-SYSTEMATIC-ASSESSMENT-2026-07-27.md —
   struck through 5 references to the now-removed redbear-wayland-guard
   (line 65 missing-daemons list, line 344 table row, line 397
   implementation list, line 414 source-list, line 797 P3-8 backlog).

7. local/docs/SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG.md — appended a 'Rounds 11-14 Source-Level
   Supersessions' table logging every lie-grade fix and stale-doc
   strike from this session. Mirrors the original deletion-log style for
   consistency, and gives operators a single place to see what was
   resolved and where. Documents the emerging pattern: lie-grade code in
   Red Bear concentrates in (a) relibc panic-site catch-alls (addressed
   rounds 9-10), (b) scheme daemon init paths using .expect() instead of
   Result (rounds 11-14), (c) Mesa DRM/Wayland stubbing (rounds 12;
   remaining work tracked in 3D-DESKTOP-COMPREHENSIVE-PLAN.md).

Not committed in this commit (operator's parallel work, to be
committed by them):
- driver-manager/* (N-tier edits)
- redbear-sessiond/manager.rs (can_* probe refinements)
- redbear-statusnotifierwatcher/* (recipe + source)
- redbear-dbus-services/* (dbus service cleanup)
- redox-driver-core/manager.rs (test-only)
- Mesa redox_drm_cs.c (CS submit fix)

vasilito 0ec7bd46bb Phase 3: GPU 3D drivers + Phase 1-2 stability fixes — full rollup
ROLLUP of all Phase 1-3 work on branch 0.3.0, targeting a production-ready
console + full graphical desktop under Intel and Virgl/VirtIO-GPU.

=== Phase 1 — Stability ===
 - fbcond: Enter key handler (scancode 0x1C→\n), display map buffering,
   control-char filter in all 7 keymaps, write_event assert
 - build-redbear.sh: auto-rebuild-prefix when fork timestamps are newer
   than prefix/x86_64-unknown-redox/sysroot (was warning-only). Added
   configurable REDBEAR_SKIP_PREFIX_REBUILD guard.
 - build-redbear.sh: set explicit keymap '-K us' in console activation
 - config/redbear-device-services.toml: remove spurious init.d service
   files for redbear-acmd/ecmd/usbaudiod. These USB device daemons are
   spawned dynamically by pcid-spawner, not as boot-time init services.
   Starting them without args panicked the boot flow.
 - relibc: grantpt/unlockpt/ptsname (then deduplicated against stdlib)
 - userutils: cherry-pick upstream getty commit 2834434 (standard C
   ptsname/grantpt/unlockpt)
 - base fork: Russian (ЙЦУКЕН) keymap + inputd control-char filter
   (K_ESC/K_BKSP/K_ENTER → \0, commit 73e44d81 in submodule/base)

=== Phase 2 — Login & Console ===
 - login.rs: restored to 0.2.5-known-good liner-based prompt
 - redbear-upower: removed tokio full/signal features → protection fault fix
 - redbear-power: excluded temporarily (being fixed in other session)
 - tlc version: updated to 0.3.0

=== Phase 3 — GPU/3D Drivers (commit 0898332f7a) ===
Intel i915: FULLY implemented — real ring buffer + MMIO command
submission via GEM DMA → GGTT → i915 render ring, with hardware
head-pointer polling (2M iterations, 50µs backoff). Zero stubs.

VirtIO GPU/Virgl (VirtioTransport): 11 VIRTGPU ioctls (GETPARAM,
GET_CAPS, RESOURCE_CREATE, RESOURCE_INFO, CONTEXT_INIT, EXECBUFFER,
WAIT, TRANSFER_TO_HOST, TRANSFER_FROM_HOST, MAP, CREATE_BLOB) ported
from Linux 7.1 virtgpu_ioctl.c and virtgpu_vq.c.
 - driver.rs: 8 virgl_* trait methods (default Unsupported)
 - scheme.rs: 11 ioctl constants + 8 wire structures + dispatch
 - virtio/transport.rs: PCI capability discovery, feature negotiation,
   control+cursor virtqueue setup, vring descriptor building
 - virtio/mod.rs: real implementations for all 8 virgl_* methods
 - intel/mod.rs: explicit virgl Unsupported stubs

Other changes from active sessions: Cargo.toml version bumps, linux-kpi
headers, libpciaccess recipe, mesa/recipe.toml, kf6 patches, expat,
driver-manager, redbear-sessiond, redbear-compositor, cub, tlc, and
many other local recipes.

vasilito 550551d8bc fix: migrate all local recipe Cargo.toml deps from local/sources/ to recipes/core/base/ symlinks
Systemic fix: all local recipes (~150 references across 40+ Cargo.toml files)
now resolve libredox, redox_syscall, and redox-scheme through
recipes/core/base/ symlinks instead of local/sources/ paths.
Eliminates lockfile collision between Cargo's resolution of the same
package through different path strings (local/sources/ vs recipes/core/base/).

This is required because the base recipe's workspace Cargo.toml resolves
these deps through recipes/core/base/ (via symlink chain from the
recipe copy location), and Cargo treats different path strings to the
same directory as different packages.

vasilito b8aac3c9bc D7: editor multi-cursor support
Add secondary_cursors field to Editor with insert_char_multi,
delete_back_multi, delete_forward_multi methods. Right-to-left
processing ensures position shifts don't corrupt earlier insertions.

7 new tests: add/clear, all_positions, insert, delete_back,
delete_forward, unicode, duplicate-add.

vasilito 7902864a32 version(0.2.5): bump project version to 0.2.5
- Cookbook Cargo.toml: 0.1.0 → 0.2.5
- All 61 in-house crate Cargo.toml versions: 0.2.4 → 0.2.5
- os-release.in: fix URLs from github.com to gitea.redbearos.org
- sync-versions.sh --check passes with zero drift

The OS version is derived from the git branch name at build time.
Building on branch 0.2.5 produces os-release with VERSION_ID=0.2.5.

vasilito c68ace12de feat: relibc S1 — sem_open refcounting + glibc cross-reference assessment
Phase S1 (Critical Correctness):
- sem_open/sem_close: global refcounting via BTreeMap + AtomicUsize
- sem_close: decrements refcount, munmaps only at zero
- sem_open: reuses existing mapping, O_EXCL returns EEXIST
- sem_unlink: marks entry for removal before shm_unlink
- va_list parsing: reads mode_t and value from stack after oflag
- All 11 sem_* functions verified in libc.so T

Phase S2-S4 (Designed, documented):
- eventfd() function, signalfd read path, EINTR handling
- name canonicalization, cancellation safety
- Full plan in local/docs/RELIBC-AGAINST-GLIBC-ASSESSMENT.md

Reference: glibc 2.41 cloned to local/reference/glibc/

Boot verified: greeter ready on VT 3 with refcounted semaphores

vasilito 15d0707e74 feat: USB storage read/write proof + full Red Bear OS tree sync
Add redbear-usb-storage-check in-guest binary that validates USB mass
storage read and write I/O: discovers /scheme/disk/ devices, writes a
test pattern to sector 2048, reads it back, verifies match, restores
original content. Updates test-usb-storage-qemu.sh with write-proof
verification step.

Includes all accumulated Red Bear OS work: kernel patches, relibc
patches, driver infrastructure, DRM/GPU, KDE recipes, firmware,
validation tooling, build system hardening, and documentation.
