vasilito 1790010483 docs: restore two wrongly-removed plans and de-dangle stale references
Round 18's N22 'stale-doc removal' deleted three docs on the stated
premise that they had 'no references anywhere in the repo'. That premise
was wrong for two of them, and SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG.md's recorded
absorption destinations for those two do not exist:

- CUB-PACKAGE-MANAGER.md was said to be absorbed into a 'redbear-cub
  recipe README.md' and NETWORKING-IMPROVEMENT-PLAN.md section 8.2.
Neither exists -- there is no cub README under local/recipes/system/cub,
and that plan has no package-manager section (its 'cubic' matches are
TCP congestion control). README.md meanwhile links the doc from its
Documentation list and names cub in six places, so this left a headline
component with no documentation at all.

- BLUETOOTH-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md was said to be merged into
NETWORKING-IMPROVEMENT-PLAN.md section 3.x. That file contains three
passing mentions of Bluetooth, not a 703-line plan. local/AGENTS.md,
docs/README.md and docs/07 all still list it as a first-class subsystem
plan, and AGENTS.md forbids treating Bluetooth as secondary.

Both restored from aa480f7ca3^ and their SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG entries
retracted with the reason. USB-VALIDATION-RUNBOOK.md's supersession is
genuine -- USB-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md carries the runbook as section 6.x
test procedures -- so it stays removed and its one reference now points
there.

Also de-dangled references to docs the authorised 2026-07-27
consolidation (092d1b39c3) removed but which canonical docs still cited
as openable: the driver-manager ASSESSMENT-2026-07-22 and D5-AUDIT
evidence files and the archived migration plan, across eight documents.
They now name what they were and where the supersession is recorded.

Remaining unresolved references are upstream KWin's vendored README
pointing at upstream's own CONTRIBUTING.md, which is deliberately not
touched.

vasilito 9f2de2a0b1 docs+build: correct version drift, mangled prose, and toolchain-version gaps
Docs:
- Baseline was stated as 0.3.1 across the canonical set while the branch,
Cat 0/1 crates and every Cat 2 fork are 0.3.2. AGENTS.md also cited a
sources/redbear-0.3.1/ archive that does not exist; the only archive
present is sources/redbear-0.1.0/. Versioning examples now match the
forks as they actually stand (redoxfs/syscall 0.9.1, libredox 0.1.19).
- Repaired 18 instances of 'immutable archived' across 8 documents, where
a global find/replace had turned sync/synced/archived into that phrase
and produced ungrammatical text ('never auto-immutable archived',
  '### Source immutable archived').
- Settled the apply-patches.sh contradiction empirically. Both sides were
wrong: the GROSS WARNING blocks (x5) described it as routine
  patch-linking, and SCRIPT-BEHAVIOR-MATRIX.md said build-redbear.sh
'never invokes' it. It is invoked at build-redbear.sh:487, but only to
  auto-repair a failed verify-overlay-integrity.sh check.
- Dropped the dangling reference to a local/AGENTS.md section
'NO OVERLAY-STYLE PATCHES — SCOPED POLICY' that does not exist.

Build system:
- mk/prefix.mk hardcoded 13.2.0 in the limits.h removal, which silently
no-ops after a toolchain upgrade and leaves the conflicting header.
  Version-globbed.
- Parameterized GCC_RECIPE so the from-source toolchain path is not
  pinned to gcc13.
- The three cstdlib strtold seds were not idempotent -- the shipped GCC
13 toolchain carried that comment block 17 times from repeated
'make prefix' runs. Each is now guarded.

vasilito aa12991053 docs: extend legacy-obsolete reference repair across AGENTS and READMEs
Completes the round-2 docs cleanup sweep by repairing the same
stale-reference pattern in files I missed in the prior commit.

Same pattern as 5970dd226f: each replacement points at the
current canonical doc (restored to top-level, absorbed into a
different plan, or now tracked in SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG.md for
historical reference).

- AGENTS.md: legacy-obsolete/BUILD-SYSTEM-HARDENING-PLAN.md
  -> COLLISION-DETECTION-STATUS.md
  legacy-obsolete/HOOKS.md -> RELEASE-BUMP-WORKFLOW.md § Git Hooks
  legacy-obsolete/PATCH-PRESERVATION-AUDIT -> SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG.md
- CONTRIBUTING.md: same legacy-obsolete repairs
- README.md: same legacy-obsolete repairs
- docs/01-REDOX-ARCHITECTURE.md:
  WAYLAND-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md -> 3D-DESKTOP-COMPREHENSIVE-PLAN.md
- docs/07-RED-BEAR-OS-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md:
  legacy-obsolete/IRQ -> top-level IRQ plan;
  legacy-obsolete/05-KDE-PLASMA -> struck-through with deletion note;
  WAYLAND-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md -> 3D-DESKTOP-COMPREHENSIVE-PLAN.md
- docs/AGENTS.md: same legacy-obsolete repairs; 05-KDE marked as
  deleted; legacy-obsolete/DRM-MODERNIZATION -> 3D-DESKTOP-COMPREHENSIVE
- docs/README.md: same legacy-obsolete repairs
- local/AGENTS.md: same legacy-obsolete repairs
- local/docs/SUPERSEDED-DOC-LOG.md: alignment with the
  2026-07-27 consolidation entry
- recipes/wip/AGENTS.md: legacy-obsolete/05-KDE-PLASMA repoint

The deltas are documented verbatim in each diff; nothing was
rephrased, only the link target was corrected.

vasilito 1dd1fccbf3 docs: relocate DRIVER-MANAGER-MIGRATION-PLAN to archive + cleanup
The DRIVER-MANAGER-MIGRATION-PLAN was self-declared complete (the
driver-manager cutover happened 2026-07-23 per local/AGENTS.md). It
is now historical reference material rather than current planning
authority. Move it from local/docs/ into the established
legacy-obsolete-2026-07-25/ archive directory, updating every
inbound reference.

Also includes minor cross-doc alignment for the previous round's
relocations:

- local/AGENTS.md: update DRIVER-MANAGER-MIGRATION-PLAN to point to
  the legacy archive
- local/docs/REDBEAR-FULL-SDDM-BRINGUP.md: alignment update
- local/docs/CONSOLE-TO-KDE-DESKTOP-PLAN.md: alignment update
- local/docs/archived/README.md: refresh archive contents note
- local/recipes/system/redbear-driver-policy/source/policy/README.md:
  policy doc drift alignment
- local/scripts/guard-recipes.sh: fix symlink target computation
(relative path was being glued onto an absolute path, producing
  malformed dangling links like '../..//mnt/.../recipe.toml')
-- this is a real bug fix discovered during this audit round.

vasilito 6d8ef13dc1 LG Gram Round 1: redox-driver-sys stub replacements + doc reference fixes
Round 1 of the LG Gram 16Z90TP compatibility work. Two parallel
workstreams in one commit:

1. Stub replacements in redox-driver-sys (per project zero-tolerance
   policy):

   - load_dmi_acpi_quirks() (was hardcoded AcpiQuirkFlags::empty()):
real loader walking a new compiled-in DMI_ACPI_QUIRK_RULES table
(currently empty — documented why) plus a new [[dmi_acpi_quirk]]
TOML section parser in toml_loader.rs. The full 16-flag
ACPI_FLAG_NAMES mapping is added so TOML entries can use any
     AcpiQuirkFlags variant by name.

   - PANEL_ORIENTATION_TABLE (was empty placeholder): populated with
10 real entries ported from Linux 7.x
     drivers/gpu/drm/drm_panel_orientation.c — GPD Pocket/Pocket 2/
WIN Max 2, ASUS T100HA/T101HA/TP200SA, Lenovo IdeaPad D330,
Chuwi Hi8 Pro/Hi10 Plus, Teclast X98 Plus II. Each entry cites
     its Linux source commit.

   - PLATFORM_RULES (kept empty): documented why intentionally empty
(Linux platform-wide DMI quirks are pre-2020 platform workarounds
not needed by Red Bear's modern targets).

2. Broken reference fixes after the 2026-07-25 archive
   (commit 589a1044e6 moved 9 docs to legacy-obsolete-2026-07-25/
but didn't update references). 30+ files referenced the moved
docs by their old local/docs/<name>.md path. This commit updates
every reference to point at local/docs/legacy-obsolete-2026-07-25/
<name>.md so links work again. Files touched: AGENTS.md,
   README.md, docs/{AGENTS,README,07-RED-BEAR-OS-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN}.md,
   local/AGENTS.md, 14 docs under local/docs/, local/patches/README.md,
   5 scripts under local/scripts/.

The matching acpid+ps2d consumer wiring landed earlier today in
submodule/base commit 45452c5a (force_s2idle, no_legacy_pm1b,
kbd_deactivate_fixup). The bootstrap reference fix is submodule/base
commit 263a41a9. Both are tracked by the updated submodule pointer
in this commit.

Build verification: redox-driver-sys 80 cargo tests pass. acpid/ps2d
host tests not runnable (require cross-compile). Canonical build
attempts uncovered two pre-existing failures unrelated to Round 1:
relibc edition-2024 unsafe-block issue in crtn, and the base fork's
'common' path resolution relies on the build script's overlay
integrity auto-repair which is currently failing. Neither is in code
touched by Round 1.

See local/docs/evidence/lg-gram/ASSESSMENT-2026-07-26.md for the full
round-by-round assessment and next-round plan.

vasilito 1528e04b09 docs: consolidate build-system docs + Tier 1 message fixes
Phase 2 of the build-system assessment:

Tier 1 (user-facing message fixes):
- mk/podman.mk: 'mk/config.mk' -> '.config' (the actual config location)
- mk/prefix.mk: vague 're-run the build' -> specific 'make prefix' guidance
- mk/virtualbox.mk: 'RedBearOS directory' -> 'Red Bear OS VM directory'
- src/bin/repo.rs: '{:?}' -> '{:#}' anyhow chain format + 'repo: ' prefix

Tier 2 (doc consolidation):
- Archive BUILD-SYSTEM-IMPROVEMENTS.md to local/docs/archived/ (self-labeled
  'HISTORICAL POST-MORTEM', no longer current).
- Add local/docs/BUILD-SYSTEM-ASSESSMENT-2026-07-18.md (459-line
comprehensive assessment: architecture, quality, robustness, gaps).
- docs/README.md: refresh status note (2026-05-01 -> 2026-07-18, v4.0 ->
v6.0); fix 'as an full fork' grammar.
- docs/07-RED-BEAR-OS-IMPLEMENTATION-PLAN.md: add status header noting
canonical/secondary split vs CONSOLE-TO-KDE-DESKTOP-PLAN.md; fix grammar.
- HARDWARE.md: remove nonexistent PROFILE-MATRIX.md reference; repoint to
README.md and the canonical desktop plan.
- local/docs/LOCAL-FORK-SUPREMACY-POLICY.md: 'currently 0.1.0' -> 'currently
branch 0.3.1; legacy release archive at sources/redbear-0.1.0/'.
- local/docs/GRUB-INTEGRATION-PLAN.md: 'make all CONFIG_NAME=redbear-grub'
  -> canonical './local/scripts/build-redbear.sh redbear-grub'.
- recipes/AGENTS.md, recipes/core/AGENTS.md: replace upstream-Redox-pattern
content with proper redirects to root AGENTS.md reflecting the local
fork / path-fork model actually used by Red Bear.
- CONTRIBUTING.md: full rewrite for local fork workflow (Gitea, single-repo
rule, path-fork model, patch governance, build-redbear.sh as canonical
entry point, no AI attribution policy).
- README.md: add BUILD-SYSTEM-ASSESSMENT-2026-07-18.md to Documentation list.

Verified: cargo check (0 errors), cargo test --lib (35/35 passed),
cargo clippy (0 new warnings vs baseline).

vasilito 99e5641127 feat: release-bump pipeline + external graphics version sync
Pipeline (3 operator asks):
- bump-release.sh: canonical orchestrator (forks + sources + external)
- upgrade-forks.sh --to=<tag>: rebase forks with diverged-mode guard
- bump-graphics-recipes.sh: map-driven group-aware graphics bumps
- check-external-versions.sh: drift checker for Qt6/KF6/Plasma/Mesa/Wayland
- refresh-fork-upstream-map.sh: append-only map updater with --check
- post-checkout-version-sync.sh + install-git-hooks.sh: opt-in branch hook
- external_version_lib.py: shared version-parsing/bumping library
- external-upstream-map.toml: ~80 external package entries
- bump-fork.sh: deprecated (REDBEAR_I_KNOW_BUMP_FORK_IS_DEPRECATED=1)
- RELEASE-BUMP-WORKFLOW.md: operator runbook

Quality fixes (8 defects from two independent audits):
- blake2b stable cache keys (was hash(), non-portable)
- atomic cache writes via os.replace
- version_sort_key pre-release demotion (was sorting after finals)
- apply_ver_transform re.error tolerance
- grep || true (pipefail abort)
- cd failure detection in upgrade-forks
- sed URL escape (injection hardening)
- refresh-fork-upstream-map last-row drop fix

Doc cleanup:
- Archive 5 obsolete plans to local/docs/archived/
- Remove 14 stale/superseded docs
- Update 18 docs to reference bump-release.sh and fix inbound links
- TOOLS.md drift fixes

vasilito 9af8da420a feat: build system transition to release fork + archive hardening
Release fork infrastructure:
- REDBEAR_RELEASE=0.1.1 with offline enforcement (fetch/distclean/unfetch blocked)
- 195 BLAKE3-verified source archives in standard format
- Atomic provisioning via provision-release.sh (staging + .complete sentry)
- 5-phase improvement plan: restore format auto-detection, source tree
  validation (validate-source-trees.py), archive-map.json, REPO_BINARY fallback

Archive normalization:
- Removed 87 duplicate/unversioned archives from shared pool
- Regenerated all archives in consistent format with source/ + recipe.toml
- BLAKE3SUMS and manifest.json generated from stable tarball set

Patch management:
- verify-patches.sh: pre-sync dry-run report (OK/REVERSED/CONFLICT)
- 121 upstream-absorbed patches moved to absorbed/ directories
- 43 active patches verified clean against rebased sources
- Stress test: base updated to upstream HEAD, relibc reset and patched

Compilation fixes:
- relibc: Vec imports in redox-rt (proc.rs, lib.rs, sys.rs)
- relibc: unsafe from_raw_parts in mod.rs (2024 edition)
- fetch.rs: rev comparison handles short/full hash prefixes
- kibi recipe: corrected rev mismatch

New scripts: restore-sources.sh, provision-release.sh, verify-sources-archived.sh,
check-upstream-releases.sh, validate-source-trees.py, verify-patches.sh,
repair-archive-format.sh, generate-manifest.py

vasilito 6b79a7b98c fix: Oracle round 6 — wayland config + doc consistency
1. config/wayland.toml: kwin_wayland_wrapper → redbear-compositor
   (redbear-compositor IS the Wayland compositor)
2. docs/README.md: removed stale 2026-04-14 status note
   (referenced docs were already deleted)
3. docs/07: redbear-compositor serves as Wayland compositor
   (not "provides kwin_wayland binary")

vasilito c4ce98a006 fix: Oracle review 4 — all remaining issues resolved
1. KWin || true removed from sed commands (lines 53-57)
2. docs/07: RELIBC-COMPLETENESS+IMPLEMENTATION → KERNEL-IPC-CREDENTIAL
3. docs/README: v2.0 note → v4.0, date 2026-04-18 → 2026-05-01
4. local/AGENTS.md: v2.0 reference → v4.0
5. redox-drm: virtio-gpu (0x1AF4) added to auto-probe filter
   + P5-virtio-auto-probe.patch wired in recipe.toml
6. KWin cmake configs kept (downstream dependency, not KWin stub)

vasilito 16b4d535c6 docs: final consistency pass — KWin status, KF6 count, 07 ph 3-5
- docs/07: Phase 3-5 descriptions updated (no stubs, honest blockers)
- docs/README: KF6 count 32/32 → 36/48 built, 12 blocked by QML
- KWin recipe: clarified cmake configs are for downstream plasma-*
  packages, not for KWin itself

vasilito 165046c401 docs: final stale reference cleanup — all dead doc links removed
Fixed remaining Oracle-found issues:
- docs/AGENTS.md: RELIBC-COMPLETENESS → CONSOLE-TO-KDE,
  RELIBC-IMPLEMENTATION → KERNEL-IPC-CREDENTIAL
- docs/07: QT6-PORT-STATUS + DESKTOP-STACK → CONSOLE-TO-KDE
- CONSOLE-TO-KDE: KWin status updated (no longer has wrapper
  scripts; redbear-compositor provides kwin_wayland separately)

All 13 deleted docs now have zero references in canonical docs.

vasilito a86717be2f state: 36/48 KDE packages build, 12 blocked — honest final state
The literal task 'build ALL KDE packages' cannot be 100% completed
because 12 packages require upstream dependencies not available on Redox:
- kirigami + plasma* (4): QML JIT disabled — no QQuickWindow/QQmlEngine
- kwin real build (1): Qt6::Sensors port needed
- breeze + kf6-kio + kf6-knewstuff + kde-cli-tools (4): source issues
- plasma extras (3): transitive blockers

What WAS completed:
- Cookbook topological sort fix (root cause — all deps now correct order)
- kf6-attica recipe (183 files, 2.4MB pkgar)
- 12 I2C/GPIO/UCSI daemons archived as durable patches
- Source archival system (make sources)
- Config + all docs synced, no contradictions

vasilito 6fa895652f milestone: Phase 4-5 completion + KF6 honesty + KDE session + GPU CS ioctl
Phase 4 KDE Plasma:
- 20 KF6 + kglobalacceld + plasma-workspace + plasma-desktop + plasma-framework enabled
- kf6-kio honest reduced build (package-local QtNetwork compat headers, no sysroot fakery)
- kf6-kdeclarative enabled
- redbear-kde-session launcher (DRM/virtual backend, plasmashell/kded6, readiness markers)
- Phase 4 checker: required plasmashell/kded6 process checks (FAIL on absence)

Phase 5 Hardware GPU:
- CS ioctl checker (GEM allocation, PRIME sharing, private CS submit/wait over /scheme/drm/card0)
- Enhanced GPU checker with hardware rendering readiness summary
- test-phase5-cs-runtime.sh harness

Qt6Quick honesty: qtdeclarative exports Qt6Quick metadata; downstream QML/Kirigami/KWin proof still insufficient.
